Week 7

Activity Presentation Information

We will be starting our student activity presentations next week. Here are the general guidelines for the presentations:

Be sure to meet briefly with the instructor the week before your presentation to discuss any materials you might need and your exact starting time during the class.

Each student will fill out this form during each presentation. The forms will then be collected by the instructor, who will collate and return the results to the presenters within 48 hours.

This is the formal rubric that will be used by the instructor for grading.

Student Pages for Activity

The student pages for your activity will be graded using this rubric:

Examples of Student pages

Here are the student pages for the 'Just What is Oobleck?' activity from Week 3.

Eye Safety

Eye safety is one of the most important things you will keep in mind as a science teacher. Always make sure there are enough safety glasses for everyone in the room, always wear safety glasses yourself, and know exactly what to do in an eye emergency. Seconds count!!

Gummi Bear Genetics

I don't love this write-up, but it's an excellent activity for teaching basic inheritance patterns. You can make the patterns as difficult or as simple as you need.

I did write up better instructions setting up the Trait 2 part of the activity.
